Amazon received fewer units than you sent. Claim them with the proof Amazon needs.

A shipment claim needs the shipment to be eligible for investigation, a claim inside the window, proof you owned the goods and proof Amazon received them. You get one claim per shipment, so make it complete.

Price: $9 per case, after the free diagnosis and evidence check. Unlimited revisions and follow-ups.

What the evidence check shows

Each file is checked against the requirements on Amazon's help pages, with Amazon's wording beside every result.

Example: proforma-invoice.png

  • Will be rejected · A completed, paid transaction: not a quote, pro forma invoice or order confirmation.

Amazon's wording: “Sales quotes, pro forma invoices” · help page

  • Passes · Issued within the 365 days before the notice.

Amazon's wording: “A clearly displayed issue date within the past 365 days before the receipt of the performance notification” · help page

  • Passes · The supplier's name, phone number, address and website.

Amazon's wording: “Contact information of your supplier, including a name, phone number, address, and website” · help page

An example with real rules, not a customer's case.

What this notice means

When an FBA shipment closes with fewer units received than you sent, you can ask Amazon to investigate once Seller Central shows the shipment as eligible for investigation. Check the Reimbursements report first: Amazon reimburses many missing units on its own.

The claim needs proof of ownership (a supplier invoice, receipt or packing list) and proof of delivery: for small-parcel shipments a tracking ID for every box, for LTL or FTL freight a proof of delivery stamped by Amazon showing the box count and weight. The window is 9 months from delivery in the US, Canada and Japan, and 6 months in the UK, EU stores and Australia.

Wording you may see

  • “Your shipment is not yet eligible for reconciliation…”
  • “Amazon has no evidence the units were received by our fulfillment center…”
  • “We did not receive all of the expected quantity…”

What Amazon requires

From Amazon's Seller Central help pages, re-read daily. Our evidence check applies each of these to your files.

“the number of boxes in the shipment and the total weight” · Amazon's help page

Why these get rejected

  • Filed before the shipment was eligible for investigation, or after the window closed.
  • A second claim for the same shipment: Amazon declines it, so the first has to be complete.
  • No proof of ownership, or one without a purchase date and matching products.
  • Freight proof of delivery without Amazon's stamp, box count or weight.
  • Shipment, PO or carton IDs that do not agree across the documents.

Questions

How long do I have to file?

Up to 9 months after the verified delivery date in the US, Canada and Japan, and 6 months in the UK, the EU stores and Australia.

What counts as proof of delivery?

For small-parcel shipments, an active tracking ID for each box, entered before the claim. For LTL or FTL freight, a proof of delivery or bill of lading stamped or signed by Amazon, showing the number of boxes and the total weight.

Can I file again if the claim is declined?

Amazon allows one claim per shipment and declines repeats, so the first claim has to include everything.

What does a missing-units case cost?
